Ephesus in brief
Ephesus is the region's headline site: the Celsus Library, the Great Theatre, Curetes Street and the Terrace Houses, with the House of Virgin Mary 8 km up the mountain. In summer an early pickup makes a real difference, both for the heat and for beating the cruise crowds.
The smart way to see Ephesus is downhill: start at the upper gate, walk the marble avenue to the lower gate, done. The walk most visitors take runs about two kilometres, top gate to bottom.
The drive from Ladies Beach
The route leaves Ladies Beach on the beach road up to the Degirmendere junction and onto the coastal highway and joins the main highway towards Ephesus. Luggage rides in the back; you ride up front in air conditioning.
Out of Ladies Beach we take the beach road up to the Degirmendere junction and onto the coastal highway, then the highway for the bulk of the 25 km. You leave Ladies Beach on the beach road up to the Degirmendere junction and onto the coastal highway, join the highway, and the next stop is Ephesus, roughly 30 minutes after pickup.
Fare and payment
The number on your confirmation is final: a fixed EUR price for the car, not per seat. You can pay the driver cash on the day or settle online by card. Cancellation is free until a day before the scheduled pickup.
