AIDAblu calls at Kuşadası on Wednesdays in the port schedule we follow: once in October 2026, from 10:00 to 19:00, and then once a month from May to September 2027, from 08:00 to 18:00. Ten hours is long enough for Ephesus and more. Instead of the usual four stops, this page suggests a quieter extra that many visitors drive past: Ayasuluk Hill in Selçuk.
What is on Ayasuluk Hill
Above the town of Selçuk stands the Basilica of St John, the remains of a large church built over the place traditionally held to be the tomb of St John. Below it is the İsa Bey Mosque, a medieval mosque. Both are a few minutes by car from Ephesus and from the Temple of Artemis, which sits at the foot of the same area. Together they show a later chapter of the same landscape, after the Roman city.
Check current opening hours and entrance fees on site; they change by season and are not included in the taxi.
A day with Ayasuluk Hill
- About 08:30: in the taxi at the port exit
- About 09:00 to 11:15: Ephesus, upper gate to lower gate
- About 11:30: the Temple of Artemis, a short stop by the single column
- About 11:50: the Basilica of St John on Ayasuluk Hill, and the İsa Bey Mosque below it
- About 13:15: lunch in Selçuk
- About 14:30: the House of the Virgin Mary or Şirince, if you still want more
- About 16:15: back at the port, before the 17:00 cut-off
On the October 2026 call, starting at 10:00, shift everything by two hours and drop the last stop; the cut-off is 18:00.

Booking and payment
The driver is paid in cash; there is no card in the taxi. Entrance fees, food and drinks are not included. The basic ride is the port to Ephesus and back; Ayasuluk Hill, the Temple of Artemis, the House of the Virgin Mary and Şirince are added at an extra charge, so mention them when you book.
