Star Flyer calls at Kuşadası on Wednesdays in May, July and September 2027, times not announced. What to carry, and which plan fits which stay.
Star Clippers' Star Flyer is listed in Kuşadası on three Wednesdays in the port schedule we follow, in May, July and September 2027. The times are not announced yet. A yellow taxi day here is simple to arrange, and the one thing worth thinking about in advance is the small bag you carry ashore. Here is what belongs in it, and nothing more.
The day bag
- Cash. The driver is paid in cash; there is no card in the taxi. You also need money for entrance fees, food and drinks, which are not included.
- Water. Ephesus has very little shade, and in July especially you will drink more than you expect.
- A hat and sunscreen. The walk between the two Ephesus gates is on open marble.
- A light scarf. Useful for covering shoulders at the House of the Virgin Mary, where modest dress is expected.
- A charged phone. To message the driver or us if you need to, and for photos.
Shoes with good grip are the other half of the kit: polished marble at Ephesus and steep cobbles in Şirince both reward them.
Plans by length of stay
Once Star Clippers publishes the times, subtract one hour from departure for your return to the port and 15 to 30 minutes for leaving the ship. Then pick a plan:
- Up to 4 hours of taxi time: Ephesus, upper gate to lower gate.
- About 5 to 5.5 hours: Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis.
- About 7.5 to 8.5 hours: all four, with Şirince as the lunch stop and roughly 35 to 40 minutes back to the port.
If the all-aboard time printed on board is earlier than departure minus one hour, that time is your limit.
