Oceania Sirena calls at Kuşadası in May, June and July 2027 on three different windows. Pros and cons of walking Ephesus early or later in the day.
Oceania Sirena makes three Kuşadası calls in the port schedule we follow, and no two share the same hours: 07:00 to 17:00 in May, 09:00 to 19:00 in June and 08:00 to 18:00 at the end of July 2027. Every one is ten hours long, so all four classic stops fit. What changes is when you reach Ephesus, and that is the decision this page helps with.
Ephesus in the morning
- For: cooler air, especially in June and July; fewer people if you are there close to opening time; the hardest walk is done early.
- Against: an early start off the ship; in the late morning tour groups arrive and the narrow parts of Curetes Street fill up.
Best on the 07:00 call in May, when you can be at the upper gate near opening time. Check current opening hours.
Ephesus in the afternoon
- For: many groups head back to their ships in the afternoon, so the site is often calmer; the morning can go to the House of the Virgin Mary and Şirince.
- Against: summer heat on open marble; less margin if anything runs late; closing times to watch.
This can suit the 09:00 call in June: hills and village first, Ephesus after lunch. Often calmer does not mean always calm, and the heat is real, so carry water.
A morning-first plan for the 08:00 call
- About 08:30: in the taxi
- About 09:00 to 11:15: Ephesus, upper gate to lower gate
- About 11:30: House of the Virgin Mary
- About 12:45: Temple of Artemis
- About 13:15 to 14:45: Şirince for lunch
- About 15:25: back at the port, before the 17:00 cut-off

What to know before booking
You settle the fare with the driver in cash; card payment is not possible in the taxi. Tickets, meals and drinks are paid separately where you buy them. The basic ride covers the port, Ephesus and the return, and the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis and Şirince are extra stops with an extra charge. Our Oceania Sirena page covers the port pickup.
