Viking Neptune calls at Kuşadası from October 2026 to September 2027, times not announced. How a yellow taxi day changes with winter, spring and summer.
Viking Neptune is the most regular Viking visitor in the Kuşadası port schedule we follow: thirteen calls between October 2026 and September 2027, with a cluster in December and January and more from May onwards. Not one of them has published arrival or departure times yet. That makes it a good ship to think about the season first and the clock second, because the same four places feel very different in a wet January and in an August heatwave.
One route, three seasons
The places do not change: Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary in the hills above it, the single column of the Temple of Artemis near Selçuk, and the village of Şirince. What changes is how long you want to be outside, and in which order.
December and January calls
Winter in Kuşadası is mild compared with northern Europe, but it can be wet and windy, and the days are short. Rain makes the polished marble of Ephesus slippery, so shoes with real grip matter more than in summer. A light waterproof is worth more than a sun hat. On a grey day the House of the Virgin Mary, with its short walk from the car park, is a gentle first stop, and Ephesus can follow when the light is best around midday. Sites are usually much quieter at this time of year.
May calls
Spring is the comfortable season for walking. If the call is long enough, this is when all four stops feel easiest: Ephesus in the morning, the house and the temple after it, and Şirince for a lunch you can sit outside for.
July to September calls
Summer turns Ephesus into a long walk on open stone with very little shade. Go there first, as early as your arrival allows, carry more water than you think you need, and keep the afternoon for places where you can sit down. Şirince, higher up and with shaded cafés, works well as the last stop before the drive back.

Every entry currently says times not announced. When Viking publishes the hours for your date, take the departure time, subtract an hour for being back at the port, and allow 15 to 30 minutes to get off the ship and reach the taxi. If the all-aboard time printed on board is earlier, that time is the one to use.
Matching the plan to the hours, whatever the month
- About 3.5 to 4 hours port to port: Ephesus only, dropped at the upper gate and collected at the lower gate.
- About 5 to 5.5 hours: Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis.
- About 7.5 to 8.5 hours: all four, with Şirince as the lunch stop and roughly 35 to 40 minutes back to the port.
In winter you may choose fewer stops even on a long call, simply because standing in the rain is less fun. That is a perfectly good reason, and the driver adjusts the order on the spot.
Booking notes for a Viking Neptune day
You pay the driver in cash; there is no card in the taxi. Entrance fees, food and drinks are not included, and opening hours change with the season, so check current opening hours before your call. The basic ride is the port to Ephesus and back; the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis and Şirince are added at an extra charge. Send us the ship name, your date, the number of people and the season-appropriate plan you like, and look at our Viking Neptune page for how the port pickup works. The port to Ephesus yellow taxi page is the place to request the car.
