Viking Jupiter calls at Kuşadası in October 2026, April and August 2027, times not announced. Why one well-paced Ephesus visit beats a rushed day.
Viking Jupiter calls at Kuşadası three times in the port schedule we follow: in October 2026, April 2027 and August 2027. Times are not announced for any of them. Whatever the hours turn out to be, there is a strong case for a simple plan: the yellow taxi to Ephesus, a proper walk through the ancient city, and back. This page explains what that walk covers and why it is enough for many visitors.
What you see between the two gates
The driver drops you at the upper gate and waits at the lower gate, so the walk runs mostly downhill. In order, you pass:
- The State Agora area near the upper gate, the civic heart of the Roman city.
- Curetes Street, the marble street that slopes down through the centre.
- The Temple of Hadrian, with its decorated arch, along the way.
- The Terrace Houses, a covered excavation beside Curetes Street with a separate ticket, if you want to see how wealthy families lived.
- The Library of Celsus, the façade most people know from photos.
- The Great Theatre, cut into the hillside near the lower gate.
Allow about two to two and a half hours, more if you add the Terrace Houses. Bring water and a hat; there is very little shade.
Why not add more?
On a short call, every extra stop takes time from Ephesus itself. Ephesus alone needs about 3.5 to 4 hours port to port. If Viking announces a long stay, you can add the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis (about 5 to 5.5 hours in total) or all four stops with Şirince (about 7.5 to 8.5 hours). But a calm Ephesus visit is a complete day for many people, and it leaves time on board.

- शुक्र, 30 अप्रैल · समय घोषित नहीं हुआ
- सोम, 16 अग॰ · समय घोषित नहीं हुआ
Be back at the port at least 60 minutes before departure, or by the all-aboard time printed on board if that is earlier.
The practical side
You pay the driver in cash; there is no card in the taxi. Entrance fees, including the separate Terrace Houses ticket, and food and drinks are not included. Opening hours change by season, so check current opening hours. The basic ride is exactly this plan, the port to Ephesus and back; adding the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis or Şirince costs extra. Book on the port to Ephesus yellow taxi page; our Viking Jupiter page explains the pickup.
