Azura calls at Kuşadası on Mondays from April to September 2027, times not announced. If you can add only one stop to Ephesus, which should it be?
P&O Cruises' Azura is listed in Kuşadası on five Mondays in the port schedule we follow, from April to September 2027. Its arrival and departure times are not announced yet. Many passengers on a call of medium length face the same choice: Ephesus is a given, there is time for one more stop, and the two candidates are the House of the Virgin Mary and the village of Şirince. Here is how they compare.

The House of the Virgin Mary
- A small stone house on Bülbüldağı (Mount Koressos), in the hills above Ephesus, visited as a place of pilgrimage.
- About 15 minutes from the Ephesus upper gate, so it adds little driving.
- A visit takes 30 to 45 minutes; quiet inside, modest dress, no photos inside the house.
- Ephesus plus the house: about 4.5 to 5 hours port to port.
Şirince
- A hillside village above Selçuk with old stone houses and steep cobbled lanes.
- About 15 to 20 minutes from Selçuk, and about 35 to 40 minutes back to the port.
- Plan 1 to 1.5 hours; good for lunch, fruit-wine tasting shops and olive-oil soaps.
- Ephesus plus Şirince: roughly 5.5 to 6 hours port to port.
How to choose
Choose the house if the day has a spiritual side for you, or if time is tight: it sits close to Ephesus and the visit is short. Choose Şirince if you want lunch with a view, some shopping and a slower afternoon. If Azura stays long enough, about 7.5 to 8.5 hours port to port, you do not have to choose: all four stops fit, with the Temple of Artemis as a short stop on the way.
In summer, Ephesus is best done first, while the morning is cooler, whichever second stop you pick.

When P&O publishes the hours, take the departure time, subtract one hour for being back at the port and about 15 to 30 minutes for leaving the ship; the rest is your taxi time. If the all-aboard time printed on board is earlier, use that.
