MSC Fantasia arrives at 07:00 and leaves at 15:00 in October and November 2026. How a yellow taxi gets you to Ephesus early and back by 14:00.
MSC Fantasia's calls in the port schedule we follow fall in October and November 2026, each on a different weekday. The times never change: in at 07:00, out at 15:00. Being back at the port an hour before sailing means your day ends at 14:00 at the latest.
Eight hours alongside with an early finish rewards one habit above all others: getting moving straight away.
Why the first hour counts double on this call
Every minute you spend on board after 07:00 comes straight off the end of your day, because the 14:00 return does not move. Eat breakfast early, carry what you need, and head for the port exit as soon as you can. Getting off the ship and through the exit to the taxi takes roughly 15-30 minutes.
The other reason is Ephesus itself. An early start usually means a calmer walk down Curetes Street and less sun on the open marble. Check current opening hours for your date. If the gate opens after you arrive, the driver can take you to the House of the Virgin Mary first and come back down.
What fits between 07:00 and 14:00
Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis fit comfortably. Together they take about 5 to 5.5 hours port to port. Şirince is possible only for a quick group that keeps every stop short, and then only as a brief look rather than a long lunch.
An early-start plan with a fixed turn-back time
- 07:00 ship arrives; about 07:30 in the yellow taxi
- about 08:00 upper gate of Ephesus
- 08:00-10:15 walk down past the Temple of Hadrian to the Library of Celsus and the Great Theatre
- about 10:15 lower gate; the driver takes you up the hill
- about 10:40 House of the Virgin Mary, 30-45 minutes
- about 11:45 Temple of Artemis, 10-20 minutes
- about 12:30 back at the port, an hour and a half before your latest return
This is the plan most groups on this ship should follow. It covers the three sights closest together, never rushes the walk through Ephesus, and leaves a real cushion for a slow gangway or traffic on the coast road.
Adding Şirince without putting the ship at risk
From the Temple of Artemis, Şirince is about 15-20 minutes up the hill, and the drive from the village back to the port takes about 35-40 minutes. On the plan above you would reach Şirince around 12:15, have roughly 50 minutes among the stone houses, and be back at the port at about 13:45. That margin is thin, so try it only if all of these are true:
- the group was through Ephesus by about 10:15
- nobody minds skipping a sit-down lunch
- you agree a fixed time to leave Şirince with the driver, and you keep to it
If any of these is in doubt, leave the village for another trip. The ship will not wait, and a calm return is worth more than a hurried look at the fruit-wine shops.

Notes for an early morning on the road
- Latest return: 14:00. If the all-aboard time printed on board is earlier, follow that.
- Payment: cash to the driver; there is no card machine in the taxi.
- Not included: entrance fees, food and drinks. Fees are paid at each site. Bring a snack if you plan to skip lunch.
- On the site: Ephesus has very little shade and the polished marble can be slippery, so wear shoes with grip and carry water.
- Booking: send the ship name, the date, the number of people, and say if you want to try for Şirince. The port to Ephesus and back booking page is the quickest way to start.
The early-start plan adds the House of the Virgin Mary and the Temple of Artemis to the basic port-Ephesus-port ride; those added stops are charged extra. Tell us which ones you want when you book.
