Ephesus, then Şirince
After the walk through Ephesus, the road climbs past Selçuk to Şirince, a hillside village of stone houses. You come for lunch, the lanes and the fruit-wine tasting shops, and you can stay as long as you like.

- About 15:40: back at the port, hours before the 18:00 cut-off
Choose this if you enjoy food, small shops and a village atmosphere more than another monument.
Ephesus, then the House of the Virgin Mary
The house sits in the hills above Ephesus, about 15 minutes from the upper gate. It is a quiet place of pilgrimage, visited by three popes, and the visit takes 30 to 45 minutes. Modest dress, silence inside, and no photos inside the house.
