Why Bodrum Airport works
Charters from Britain, Germany and Scandinavia use BJV heavily in summer. Charter season, April to October, is when BJV earns its place; winter schedules are thin and Izmir often covers the flights.
Both terminals are compact: short queues outside charter peaks and gate walks of a few minutes. Pickup areas sit right at the exits.
On the road to Bodrum Airport
The route leaves Kusadasi centre on the ring road that meets the Selcuk highway and joins the main highway towards Bodrum Airport. Luggage rides in the back; you ride up front in air conditioning.
The first leg is local: the ring road that meets the Selcuk highway out of Kusadasi centre. In season the first stretch near the coast can crawl; once on the motorway it is a steady cruise.
